INTEGRATING NIS4 INTO YOUR NEWSROOM
NIS4 operates as an integral part of the wider newsroom operation, and has proven integration with a wide range of third party systems in all the NIS newsrooms delivered over the last 11 years. This has been achieved as integral to the NIS4 design are a variety of mechanisms for achieving integration with third party systems.
INTEGRATION PORTFOLIO
NIS4 integrates with a wide range of third party newsroom systems, including:
The AV systems that receive AV content from lines, tape and digital file format.
The higher level management systems, such as on-air-time sales and traffic systems.
News playout systems for multiple platforms, such as television playout and web CMS.
Other third party systems requiring metadata, such as EPG systems
MOS PROTOCOL
The implementation of the MOS protocol in NIS4 facilitates extensive control over metadata during creation, editing, play-out and documentation, resulting in a reliable and comprehensive information system for broadcast professionals. The MOS interface is used to integrate NIS4 primarily with news playout systems, but also can be used for other products and systems that are MOS compliant, such as some editing systems and character generators.
TEXT AND XML
NIS4 includes powerful tools for the flexible and quick codification of new imports and exports using flat files or XML. NIS4 is therefore capable of offering custom-made information to a broad range of external systems.
