EASY-TO-USE NIS4 MODULES

Each NIS4 product comprises of a suite of NIS4 modules. Each NIS module provides users with an easy-to-use desktop interface for specific functionality. Common to all though is the ease of navigation and use, enabling each role within the newsroom to find the tools that they need quickly and reliably. The module available include:

BROADCAST GUIDE MODULE
The NIS4 Broadcast Guide module provides the tools to build a channel’s programme schedule, entering all relevant data about each programme, and exporting the schedule to web sites or EPGs, and nearer on-air time producing NIS4 Rundowns for production.

AGENDA MODULE
The NIS4 Agenda module provides three different desktops for managing the news research, with each editorial office (say news, sports or culture) accessing its own Agenda to manage different events, enquiries and call sheets received via wires, email or fax.

TV PRODUCTION MODULE
The NIS4 Production module provides a Rundown desktop for use by journalists, editors and playout directors to monitor and control the content within a news programme, including media, prompter and voice over text, CG text and template, technical instructions etc.

RADIO PRODUCTION MODULE
The NIS4 Radio Production module provides a Rundown desktop similar to the TV Production one, but with specific functionality for radio. Functionality includes preparing anchor texts to be read from the NIS4 screen and listening to audio items in different editorial units.

WEBSITE FEED, VIDEOTEXT AND TEXT-TV PRODUCTION MODULES
The NIS4 modules for other platforms provide the specialist tools required to feed a web CMS or other system, including videotext index pages and headlines for text-TV tickertapes. Content can easily be moved between platforms for re-use.

ARCHIVE MODULE
The NIS4 Archive module provides the tools to configure what NIS4 content should be automatically archived, what content requires manual input of additional metadata and archiving and what content need not be archived.

LINES MODULES
The NIS4 Lines modules provide the newsroom with all the functionality required to manually and automatically search, read and easily import content from news feeds (link ANP), fax (automatically digitised by NIS4) and email.

IMPORTS AND EXPORTS MODULES
The NIS4 Imports and Exports modules provide the newsroom with connection to a variety of other systems that may be required, including playout systems (using MOS), prompters, character generators, web CMS, EPG systems etc.
