NIS4 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

NIS4-LITE
NIS4-Lite is an out of the box installation with no custom integration (ie. no MOS), that is intended for small newsroom or trial system operation:

• 25 NIS4 clients, including Lotus Note licenses
• Single central server hardware running on Nitrix (self healing server)
• IBM Foundation + IBM Domino
• NIS4 central software
• All that is required is a low spec server and some clients

NIS4-PRO AND NIS4-ENTERPRISE
NIS4-Pro and Enterprise are fully scalable versions of NIS4 that can have almost unlimited seats (named users), multiple channels (television, radio, web, text TV etc), and NIS4 modules. The basic technical specification is as follows, but a more detailed spec can be provided to meet the needs of your specific newsroom configuration...

Central Server

• NIS4 can run on one low power server
• Windows or Linux
• Runs IBM Domino layer
• NIS4 software
• Second server for MOS gateways (or virtual machine on more powerful main server)
• For wires / lines also need another server, or virtual machine

Central Server Redundancy Options

• NIS4-Pro uses 2 Domino servers replicating every 5 minutes, with manual changeover
• NIS4-Enterprise Cluster using Domino Enterprise version, with automatic failover, replicating at field level
• Both methods installed and in operation with customers

Clients

• Low power client running Lotus Notes
• 3 types – end-user, designer and administrator
